Restaurant Review

This family run restaurant is owned and managed by Michael and Stephanie Siino who have teamed up with Michael's cousin, Executive Chef  Anthony Graziano to provide a refreshing alternative to the Italian BYOB restaurant restaurant scene.

Having worked in the family's restaurant business, Michael Siino started as a child and continued on through college developing his restaurant management expertise. After completing college he managed restaurants for a local restaurant group.

Freehold is a town with many mediocre, traditional heavy sauce Italian restaurants. Angelina's has distinguished itself with their classic and contemporary trattoria menu prepared with high quality fresh ingredients sourced locally and from Italy and the Mediterranean area.

Chef Grazing comes with solid credentials. A graduate of the famed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY., Chef Graziano began honing his culinary skills under Chef Ryan at the prestigious Pacific Club in New Port Beach, CA. He later spent 5 years in the Puglia region of Italy working under Chef Leonardo as Executive Chef running his kitchens and opening restaurants with him. Returning to the USA, he worked under Chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author, Waldy Malouf, former owner of the Rainbow Room and Beacon in Manhattan.

The attractive dining rooms have walls decorated in soft earth tones adorned with a large contemporary decorative fixture mounted on the rear of the main dining area. The side walls are adorned with large flower vases ensconced in recessed shelves The tables are set with linen tablecloth es and napkins.

As you enter, you are warmly greeted with a smiling and friendly hostess who will escort you to your table. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, though somewhat lacking in a knowledge of the food preparations and sources of ingredients.

The meal starts off with a serving of warm, though uninspiring foccacia bread, accompanied by virgin oil and a dish of very tasty zucchini breaded chips, The real dining experience begins with a nice selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

If you are a fan of top end mozzarella, try the Caprese appetizer. The Buffalo mozzarella is imported from the Campania Region of Italy, known globally for it's high quality and strict standards. The mozzarella consists of a very soft texture and almost an ice cream like, sweet taste.

If you are a Branzini enthusiast, try it, and order it cooked whole with the head and tail intact. Angelina's serves one of the top Branzini's in Monmouth County --- and at a much lower price.

The Meatballs, Sausage and Potato Gnocchi are homemade as well as some of the desserts. The homemade Tiramisu is excellent.

Whole wheat and gluten free pasta is available. They are child friendly with a kids menu

During the warmer months there is outdoor dining on the raised patio.

Private parties are welcomed and can be accommodated in a se per ate, private dining room.

Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.
