restaurant.mc is not for everyone! Patrons who have dined at this restaurant have usually left with a definite opinion about it, either very impressed or disappointed. The restaurant serves up excellent American eclectic food in an attractive decor that is frequented by an upscale 25 to 50+ crowd who come to enjoy creative, well prepared eclectic food in an energetic atmosphere. The restaurant is the creation of famed chef David Burke, acting as a consultant to restauranteur Marc Cooperman and executive chef Phil Deffina, a rising star on the New Jersey restaurant scene. restaurant mc is trendy and loud, with seating of over 120 in two dining rooms, upstairs and down. The downstairs has the bar located in the front of the restaurant, an open kitchen in the rear, and the dining area between the bar and kitchen. The upstairs dining area is less noisy and not as cramped. This is a better option if you are on a first date or prefer good conversation while having dinner. The bar scene is lively and is a great place to meet up with some friends for a few drinks or have one while you wait for your table. They have an impressive drink menu, and a sophisticated wine list. The menu features simple, creatively prepared foods using fresh local ingredients when available. The servings can be made up in a variety of arrangements from traditional three course meals to groupings of small dishes. Organic and vegetarian dishes are also offered. When available, the popular dishes are: Organic Niman Ranch Pork Osso Bucco, with summer white bean fagioli, crispy-confit tomatoes, and baby vegetables; Seared Organic Salmon with Jersey corn, local kale, tempura okra, and BBQ essence; and the Petite Filet Mignon with Lap-chung fried rice, garlic long beans, “general tso’s style”. Same room desserts, they are well prepared. Try David Burke’s Cheesecake Lollipops with raspberry cream; or the Hot Caramel Experiment For Two with frozen himalayan rock salt, popcorn, apple, pecan, and mini cupcake restaurant mc is child friendly and offers a well prepared kids menu. They are open 7 days a week serving lunch from Tuesday to Friday 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday, from 11 am to 2:30 pm.
