Restaurant Review |

The attraction with this small, BYOB Lambertville storefront restaurant is the creative, well prepared food by co-owner Matthew Kane. This is a friendly, unpretentious restaurant with a spartan interior of closely spaced tables, burnt ember walls adorned with paintings by local artists, and soft lighting. Chef Kane honed his skills at the famed Po restaurant in NYC under chef Mario Batali. When available, the popular starters are the Roasted Pear Salad with crunchy bacon and baked brie; and The White Bean and Tomato soup with Tuscan beans and California tomatoes. When available, the popular dinner entrees are; Braised Beef Short Ribs, seared and browned with a caramelized vegetable-herb mix; and the Lamb Shank, Braised in a tomato-white wine sauce and served with polenta. They offer a very limited selection of desserts. When available, try the Home-Style Fruit Crisps. The downside is that the tables are so closely spaced, and with a very high noise level when the restaurant is full, a quiet, intimate conversation is impossible. |
