Restaurant Review

Barca City Cafe & Bar, located on Easton Avenue near Rutgers University, is a popular spot for budget conscious college students and millennials looking to meet up with friends for a light meal and some strong and attractively priced drinks, or as a nightlife spot on weekends with DJ's and live music..

Ambiance is trendy and mature, a notch above the nearby college watering holes.

There are couches and ottomans on one half of the restaurant and tables and chairs on the other half. Colors are done up with scarlet in black RU colors, and walls adorned with  soccer jerseys, displays of sideways liquor bottles, and middle-eastern vases and pictures.

The bar area has large screen TV's for sports oriented patrons. It's especially popular for soccer fans during the club football season. The bar top is covered with Spanish tiles to enhance the Spanish Taverna ambiance.

On weekends they have DJs and live music, and a dance floor that is seldom overcrowded and packed.

While the menu serves a good variety of Tapas and Bocadillos mini sandwiches, don't expect high quality gourmet food. It's a menu that appeals to budget conscious diners with an affordable price range of $2.25 for Bocadillos to $17 for entrees.

During the warmer months the restaurant opens up to the street for al fresco dining.

Limited street parking available, free parking after 8pm. There is also a nearby parking deck at 110 Somerset

Barca City Cafe & Bar is open seven days/week: 11:30 am - 1:30 am
