The Rams Head Inn is an old style, elegant restaurant set on five acres with beautiful gardens and flower lined fences. Located just eight miles from Atlantic City, they serve well prepared classic American cuisine and are a more reserved alternative to the glitzy AC casino restaurant scene. This is fine country dining with warm, old style elegant ambiance, and an ideal place to celebrate a special occasion or for a family Sunday Brunch. The dining patrons are typically the upscale 50 + crowd who enjoy dressing up for a fine dining experience. The interior has several dining rooms with wood-burning fireplaces, soft candlelight, and tables spaced apart for quiet, cozy dining. For a romantic occasion, asked to be seated at a table in front of the roaring fireplace, or be sure to ask for the Garden Room. On Friday and Saturday evenings you can enjoy drinks and live music in the Tavern Room. Under the direction of Chef Luigo Baretto, who comes with many years of impressive credentials and awards, where he honed his skills in Italy, Switzerland, and the U.S., is currently a Certified Executive Chef and a member of the American Academy of Chefs. The food at the Rams Head Inn is well prepared and attractively presented using fresh ingredients. However, most of the menu selections are traditional, classic offerings and lack imagination. You are not likely to find an item on the menu that is unique or you have not tried before. When available, the popular appetizers are; the Pan Seared Saku Tuna, peppercorn crusted with pickled ginger wasabi drizzle; the Baked Oysters with chopped escargot and classic garlic herb butter. When available, the popular dinner entrees are; the Pilgrim Chicken Pot Pie dumplings in a copper kettle; the Beef Wellington, with roasted cipollini onions and yellow beet carpiccio; the Glazed Crisp Roasted Duckling with rice; and the Leek Wrapped Crab Cakes with artichoke hearts, spinach and red pepper aioli. Save room for desserts, they are awesome. When available, try the Black and White Cake. The wait staff are very professional, friendly, and anticipatory.
