The Lobster Shanty is one of Jack Baker's six seafood restaurants in NJ, and is located next door the to another of his restaurants, the Wharfside. The Lobster Shanty is set dockside on the Manasquan Inlet, and if you are close enough to get a window seating during the dinner hours, you can watch fishing boats returning from the ocean. The decor is nautical, with large glass windows, not at all like a shanty. The seafood is why you come to this restaurant as there is little variety of other food on the menu. They offer good, fresh seafood, although the preparation is basic. Expect a long wait during the summer months; you can wait at the bar until called. |
