Restaurant Review

Charlie's of Lincroft, located on the site of the former the Lincroft Inn, features a well-executed menu of contemporary American cuisine in a casual yet elegant atmosphere.

The former Lincroft Inn was a 300+ years historic landmark. Charlie's of Lincroft was completely rebuilt with an eye towards maintaining the formers restaurants rich 18th century history by introducing wood, mahogany and white brick into the structure to produce an elegant, yet casual, rustic atmosphere, accommodating seating for 265 guests. Many of the original structures building materials were salvaged and incorporated into the new structure including parts from of the inn's original timber frame, as well as brick, and the stone from the foundation.

The restaurant is spread out on three levels with the two dining areas on the first level that features the bar area with seating for 85 and a pub-style room with tables for 75 more guests.

The basement features a stunning wine room with stone arches and wooden beams, with a bar and seating 30 people.

The upper level offers two private dining rooms for small private functions with seating for 60 and for 14.

Owned by the Hesse Companies who also owns and operates the successful & popular Jersey Shore waterfront Charlie's of Bay Head.

The kitchen is run by Executive Chef Josh Sauer with Jason Kobilis serving as culinary director of both Hesse Company restaurants.

Chef Sauer received his formal education in Culinary Arts at Brookdale Community College. He later honed his culinary skills at the former shore landmark, Doris & Ed's, and later at the acclaimed Rat's Restaurant in Hamilton, NJ. Prior to coming to Charlie's of Lincroft he was the Executive Chef at the elegant Avenue Le Club in Long Branch.

Jason Kobilis served as Executive chef at Charlie's of Bay Head before becoming the Culinary Director for both restaurants.

The seasonally changing Contemporary American menu offers a decent selection of well-executed, inspiring presentations of prime dry aged steaks, seafood, meats, homemade pastas, burgers, and pizzas.

Service is welcoming and attentive without being intrusive.

Charlie's of Lincroft is open seven days/week for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner: Monday & Tuesday 4pm–11pm, Wednesday thru Sunday 11:30am–11pm.
