Restaurant Review

The Old Homestead in the Borgata Hotel is popular with diners looking to celebrate a special occasion and for high rollers who are looking for the highest grade of beef in a big-time atmosphere. The meal portions, the dining room ambiance, and the prices are all equally big time.

This old time favorite since 2003, has continued as one of the best steak houses on the Jersey Shore.

Recently renovated, the decor is a warm contemporary atmosphere with soft lighting and earth tones --- not the traditional steakhouse with dark wood and clubby ambiance found in many other high-end steakhouses. The walls are adorned with attractive artwork and photographs to add touches of sophistication and nostalgia throughout the stunning multi story space.

Seating on the upper deck dining area provides a view down on the main dining area and a little more privacy. If you plan to dine with a group of 10-12, book the Chef's table. It's a glass-walled room in the kitchen with curtains you can open or close for privacy.

The Old Homestead is legendary for its USDA Prime, Texas-size slabs of beef and for their trademarked domestically raised, hand-massaged Kobe beef. The quality of their USDA Prime beef is of a higher quality than most other high end steak houses that serve USDA Choice.

Note: USDA Prime is the superior grade with exceptional tenderness, juiciness, flavor and fine texture. It has the highest degree of fat marbling and is derived from younger beef. That's why Prime is generally featured at the most exclusive upscale steakhouse restaurants.
USDA Choice is the second highest graded beef. It has less fat marbling than Prime. Generally, USDA Choice will be less tender, juicy and flavorful with a slightly coarser texture than Prime

The service is professional and attentive with an old school charm.

The Old Homestead is open with seasonal hours for six or seven days/week for dinner.
Open on Thanksgiving.
