The Inn at Millrace Pond is a lovely romantic restaurant located in a bed and breakfast converted from a Moravian village gristmill, circa 1770.
The seasonally changing menu is created with fresh farm to table produce, seafood is sustainable and fresh shell eggs from local and cage free chickens.
The kitchen is run by Executive Chef Stefan Sabo. Chef Sabo received his formal culinary traing in Europe at the Bergius Berufsfach Schule. He later honed his culinary skills at The Mohawk House in Sparta, NJ, The Bernards Inn in Bernardsville, NJ and the Renaissance in Albany, NY prior to coming to the The Inn at Millrace Pond.
The decor has a historic country feeling with a large stone wall, exposed posts and beams, and candlelit tables. Check out the tavern in the basement it is charming with a large walk-in fireplace, grain chute, and trimmings and memorabilia covering the tavern's history as a working mill. There is also a huge wine cellar located adjacent to the tavern.
This is an ideal place for couples looking to get away for a weekend to a romantic bed & Breakfast without having to venture away for fine dining.
While the wait staff service is very friendly, they can improve on being more attentive. The kitchen tends to be slow in delivering meals.
The Inn also offers an extensive wine list with over 90 bottles and 15 wines by the glass.
The Inn at Millrace Pond is open Thursday through Saturday: for Lunch, 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Dinner, 5:00 – 9:00 PM,
Sundays for Lunch, 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM, and Dinner: 4:00 - 8:00 PM
They are open for winter Holidays and are child friendly with a children's menu.
