Restaurant Review

The Clean Plate Kitchen restaurant is located in the historic village of Clinton alongside the Raritan River with the best view in town of the picturesque Old Red Mill.

It's also the best restaurant in Clinton! Aside from it's location along the river, the high quality of the food does not take backseat to its scenic setting

Owned and operated by husband and wife, Anthony and Nicole Piazza, they are committed to serving healthy dishes using whole or minimally processed foods with fresh, locally sourced, organic ingredients.

While they offer a selection of items for carnivores, they specialize in vegan and gluten free dishes. They use only grass-fed beef for meat dishes and wild caught fish for seafood items. Egg dishes are made with organic eggs, and sweet potato fries and plantain chips are used instead of French fries.

Nicole Piazza is also a registered dietician who oversees "Nourish to Heal", a holistic foods counseling service --- hence their devotion to good clean, healthy eating. Desserts are all made by Nicole with an emphasis on vegan options.

The interior is casual, rustic, yet warm and cozy. During the winter ask for a table by the fireplace. During the summer get seated on the patio with picturesque views of the river and the mill

The staff is friendly. knowledgeable and attentive.

The Clean Plate Kitchen is child friendly with a kids menu.

The Clean Plate Kitchen is open Wednesday – Monday (closed Tuesday) for lunch from 11am until 4pm and for dinner from 5pm until 9pm
