Restaurant Review

Another of many Ironbound, Newark Spanish-Portuguese restaurants that serve up good food with huge portions, at a very reasonable price. Very little if any, distinguishes this restaurant from the others.

They are best known for their lobster and Paella dishes that are well prepared and tasty.

The decor is dated; The walls are colorfully adorned with murals and mirrors, hanging chandeliers, and the tables set with white and salmon linen.

The popular appetizers are: The Gambas al Ajillo - shrimp in garlic sauce; Chorizo Espanoles - grilled Spanish sausage; and the Almejas Marinera-clams marinera.

The popular dinner entrees are: Paella a la Valenciana - shellfish, chicken, and sausage over saffron rice; the Langosta Cantabrica - lobster prepared in clam, wine and egg sauce; and the Merluza a la Vasca - a traditional dish from the Basque Region prepared with whiting, clams, and shrimps in a green sauce.

Save room for dessert, they are very good. The popular selections are: Flan de Caramelo - caramel custard and the Tarta de Carrote - carrot cake.

The restaurant offers on-site secure parking.

The service is friendly and attentive.
