Roller Skate Equipment Styles
Indoor roller skates have hard, firm wheels, as opposed to outdoor skates that are softer, more like rubber.
There are two boot styles; The high boot and the low-cut boot usually used for speed skating. Beginners should choose the high boot skates for greater ankle support. Two types of skates are in use at most roller rinks are the In-line skates, sometimes referred to as Roller blades have anywhere from two to five wheels arranged in a single line. And the type the Quad skates, the more traditional skate, have two front and two rear wheels.
Almost all roller rinks today offer both in line and quad skates for rental.
Please call ahead for public skating times as most rinks operate on a seasonal schedule and occasionally may cancel a public session to accommodate a private party.
