This year, Independence Day falls on Saturday, July 4, 2020
Independence Day commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, PA. on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
This is a Federal holiday in the United Sates and is celebrated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball games, along with many other private family and friends events.
Currently, Fireworks displays at public and private beaches, boardwalks, and lake shores are permitted.
While most New Jersey towns have opted to cancel this year's fireworks, under these recent changed orders, many towns are expected to reconsider having fireworks shows. Public gatherings are limited to 500 people.
With fireworks events under constant evaluation, restrictions may change and require cancellations or changes of dates, times and locations. Before planning a trip to visit one of the listed events, it is suggested that you check with the event sponsor to confirm the event schedule, or for additional information on the event.
Stay tuned --- we will be updating this list as the event sponsors confirm this year's events.
