Independence Day commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, PA. on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
This is a Federal holiday in the United Sates and is celebrated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball games, along with many other private family and friends events.

Bring a chair or your favorite blanket and join us on the green for a viewing of the Lower Township fireworks display, taking place just up the beach from the terminal. The green provides a perfect vantage point for this incredible display, and admission and parking for the event are free. We'll have live music from the band Jumper, face painting for the kids and food & beverage available on the green.

The day begins at Marlton with the annual Woodstown-Pilesgrove Firecracker 5K run. The Firecracker Run starts at Marlton Park and leads runners through the neighboring community. This run attracts more than 300 runners to the park. Marlton Park is also the last stop for the annual Fourth of July Parade. The parade is the only one in the county and attracts people from all over. The Fourth of July celebration ends at Marlton Park with an outstanding fireworks show. This fireworks show includes live music, food vendors and other activities to round out the day.
