Restaurant Review

Black Eyed Susans is a seasonal bistro style restaurant, originally a morning coffee house, has now expanded it's hours with a dinner menu.

It is one of the best restaurants in LBI for food quality and service.

Decor is simple with large front windows offering a view of Barnegat Bay. During the dinner hours you can enjoy a nice sunset. There are two dining areas with walls adorned with large black and white photos of beach and dining scenes . Tables are spaced comfortably apart on blond wood floors set with white linens. Soft lit lighting enhances the casual dining ambience.

The restaurant is owned by Chef Christopher Sanchez and his wife Manager/Chef Ashley Pellegrino. Both owners are graduates of CIA and have honed their cooking skills in Africa, Italy, Spain and on the Jersey Shore at the Yellow Fin in Surf City.

They serve a creative, well prepared seasonal menu with locally sourced ingredients where possible. Meats, dairy, eggs, fruit and vegetables are organically raised. They serve a variety of gluten free food, vegetarian, and vegan choices. They also have a raw bar with excellent East Coast sourced seafood.

Wait staff is young, friendly, and well trained.

Limited free parking. On busy weekends, street parking handles overflow.

Reservations are a must on busy Summer weekends.

Black Eyed Susans has seasonal hours. During the summer, they are open seven days/ week 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
