Formerly Trattoria Fratelli, Sara Riva opened Osteria La Flamma in the summer of 2011 with a wood-fired theme and an affordably priced menu.
The menu has changed and features homemade pastas, risottos, grilled steaks, seafood dishes, chickens from Goffle Road Poultry Farm, and thin crust pizzas. They offer seasonally changing daily specials.
The large dining room is attractive and seats 110. The decor is done up with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the street and the park, red frames and panes along the front of the restaurant, with walls adorned with framed posters of Italy. There are banquette seats along the walls, paper topped over the white tablecloths. An open-flame brick pizza oven runs the length of the back wall.
During the warmer months there is outdoor dining with umbrellas and a view of the park.
Osteria La Flamma is open Monday - Thursday, 11:30am - 10pm; Friday, Saturday, 11:30am - 11pm; and Sunday , 11:30am - 9pm. Brunch is served on Sunday at 11:30 am.
