Celebrate New Years Eve December 31, 2017 in NJ at a family friendly venue where events and activities have an unusual twist; They are not alcoholic dominant celebrations that New Years Eve has come to be associated with.

Many of the events are held at affordable family-friendly, alcohol free, venues. For an extended holiday family experience, some of the New Years Eve celebrations have onsite overnight hotel accommodations.

Northern New Jersey Family New Years Eve Events

This is a family friendly event which features live entertainment, food vendors and fireworks --- scheduled for approximately 7:15 pm. There will be a variety of entertainment and activities including a Magician, a Balloon Animal Artist, Contortionist, Hawaiian and Irish Step Dancers, live musical acts, Actors and Interactive shows, a Reptile Show, Face Painting and Airbrush Tattoos, and a Mentalist and Moana Princess. Food Vendors will also be on site. The night will wrap up with a fire show and a fireworks show. Fireworks will be held on the grounds of the estate. Most of the acts will take place in the three floors of Rutherfurd Hall, although some vendors and performers will be outside the main building.

Morris County First Night

Morris County First Night is a non-alcoholic event in Morristown that takes place from 4:45pm-midnight. Over 400 artists and 80 performers are scheduled to attend this year's celebration. Free parking and shuttle bus service will be provided. For one unbelievably reasonable price, you have dozens of venues to choose from, showcasing world-class talent with performances designed especially for kids, teens, young adults, families, and not-so-young adults. If that's not enough, First Night sets off not one but two separate fireworks displays – one at 9:15pm and another at midnight!

Celebrate the coming New Year with this Scottish tradition. Toss all of last year's bad memories into the fire symbolizing a clean break with all that went wrong in the old year. Free hot cocoa, cake and a bagpiper will be onsite to entertain the crowd and the house will be open. Paper and pencils will also be available for you to write down all the bad things from the previous year that you wish to toss into the fire. You are also invited to prepare a list in advance and bring it to the fire.

Our award-winning overnight program features dinner and breakfast served at the chowline, a guided tour of the Battleship, a ride in the Flight Simulator, and the chance to sleep in the bunks that the crew of the USS New Jersey once did. This family oriented New Years Eve celebration will give kids the opportunity kids to ring-in the New Year and still get to bed at a reasonable hour. The theme of the celebration this year will be "From Sea to Shining Sea."
The family activities will begin at the Gymnasium (above) with dancing, entertainment, food and refreshments and an early countdown to midnight with a falling crystal ball at 7:00 p.m.
The evening will "end with a bang" at the JFK Boulevard Beach at 8:00 p.m. with a Fireworks display.
