Attractive, with a National Park lodge style decor. A good place for celebrating group occasions or for meeting up with friends for drinks and dinner. Many of the menu items are pricey

McLoones Boathouse located adjacent to Turtle Back Zoo and within the South Mountain Recreation complex on the banks of the reservoir, is a popular place for celebrating group occasions, family dining, and for meeting up with friends for drinks and dinner.
McLoone's Boathouse has a National Parks lodge ambience and is run like a chain restaurant. It's one of Tim Mcloone's eight restaurants in New Jersey and Maryland.
The restaurant is huge with seating for 240 with an area for semi-private party dining, and an additional 80 outside on the patio during the warmer months.
The nautically themed very attractive, upscale interior has high vaulted ceilings, dark wooden walls with model ships, an attractive and vibrant bar, gas fueled fireplaces in each room, a scenic view of the reservoir, and a neat outdoor dining patio with a fire pit and lounge chairs.
The energy and noise level are high.
The food while decent, falls short of measuring up to the level of the decor and ambience. The menu offers many of the classic seafood (with a raw bar), steaks, burgers, soups, and other meat items.
The restaurant is family friendly.
McLoones Boathouse is open Monday through Thursday, 11:30am to 10pm, - Friday and Saturday,-11:30am to 11pm and Sunday at 10:30am (for Sunday Brunch) until 10pm.
