Lola’s European Cafe is a beloved hangout for visitors and locals alike, perfect for enjoying a light lunch or savoring a handcrafted cheese board with a glass of wine or a cocktail before heading out for the evening.

One of its biggest charms is the prime people-watching, whether you're seated inside by the expansive windows or out on the cozy sidewalk patio along Cookman Avenue during the warmer months.

This funky, rustic gelateria and café is the brainchild of owner Scott Mizrahi, who named it in honor of his mother, Lola. She's also the creative force behind their standout gelato, made in-house and offered in over 20 decadent flavors—widely regarded as some of the best on the Northern Jersey Shore.

While gelato is the star of the show, Lola’s also serves up a thoughtfully curated selection of paninis, salad and cheese boards, and a few signature cocktails. The drinks menu includes everything from classic wine and beer to unique offerings like boozy milkshakes, dessert martinis, and coffee and tea-infused cocktails.

The interior exudes repurposed rustic charm, with exposed brick walls, distressed wood tables, and vintage metal chairs. Vinyl plank floors and large floor-to-ceiling windows round out the cozy atmosphere, with seating for about 25.

One of the cafe’s standout features is its intimate 8-seat bar—hailed as one of the most distinctive in Asbury Park, a town known for its vibrant bar scene.

Don't miss their signature Smoked Bourbon, prepared tableside with a butane torch and oak wood for a smoky, aromatic experience.

Gender-neutral restrooms are available, and the cafe is open seven days a week for lunch and light dinner.
