This is a Federal holiday in the United Sates and is celebrated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball games, along with many other private family and friends events.
Families and friends can be found getting together for barbecues, vacations, and although illegal in New Jersey, shooting off fireworks.

The Bikes, etc. Parade steps off from Ricalton Square at 8:15 a.m. —it’s Everything Push, Pedal or Pull: red, white & blue decorated bikes, kazoo band, toddlers’ pots. Live Music 3:30 p.m. until fireworks: local young and adult bands, on lawn opposite town hall. Ice cream on sale; hot dogs and soda sold by Boy Scout Troop 5, celebrating BSA's 100th and Troop 5's 90th years.

KaBoom! Fireworks on the Navesink takes place along the banks of the Navesink River the evening of July 3, 2010 (with a rain date of July 4th). More than a dozen food vendors set-up to provide food and drink to the over 50,000 people who pour into downtown Red Bank for the event. A large stage is set up at each park and live entertainment is provided from 4:00 PM up until the fireworks show at dusk and then again for another 45 minutes after the display. At around 9:15 PM the skies fill with one of the most sophisticated fireworks displays in the country. Launched from two barge locations, Garden State Fireworks of Millington, New Jersey shoots over 10,000 shells, all choreographed to an eclectic mix of popular and patriotic songs.

The Battleship will open her decks at 6 pm for guests and sponsors to enjoy the Blast BBQ, which features a lobster and steak dinner, an open bar, and entertainment on the ship’s fantail. BBQ guests will also experience the fireworks at dusk from special VIP areas on the ship. There will also be mascots from area sports teams, face painting, temporary tattoos, food and beverage concessions and much more, all capped with the best view of the fireworks at dusk. Tickets to board the Battleship’s Decks are $10 per person. For those who just want to enter the Battleship Pier, tickets are $7 per person.
