Restaurant Review

The newest hot spot on the Asbury Park boardwalk, the Langosta Lounge, located across from the Stone Pony, is a popular place with the 20 + to 40+ crowd who come to enjoy a lively bar, good music, and reasonably priced food and drinks, in an attractive beach front setting with ocean views.

The place is owned by Marilyn Schlossbach, a Jersey Shore native and a well-known local restaurateur with ownership in the Oshin, Labrador Lounge, Rosalie’s Kitchen, and the Trinity and the Pope.

The restaurant is very trendy, beach themed, flat screen TVs with fireplaces playing on the screen, a lit up Buddha head, marble pineapple lamps, and various other mementos on the wall.

The menu offers a wide selection of  well prepared foods from different countries using fresh ingredients.

Vegan and vegetarian options are readily available.

When available, the popular dinner starters are; The Pu Pu Platter for two, an assortment of coconut shrimp, baby back ribs, Asian Vegetable gyozas, BBQ wings and skewered pineapple steak served with chile lime sauce; and the Shrimp C’est Chien, skewered grilled mango shrimp served with plantain chips and topped with a decadent West Indies garlicky butter glaze.

When available, the popular dinner entrees are: The Manchego and Pequillo Stuffed Organic Chicken; the Labrador Asian BBQ Baby Back Ribs, slow cooked in our own Hoisan Ginger Barbecue. Served with Electra fries and curry mayo; and the Langosta Paella, prepared in a cilantro broth with mussels, shrimp and seafood mixed with chorizo and vegetables over Ruby’s special Mexican rice and spice roasted garlic aioli toast points.

The popular desserts are; The Tropical Fruit Bread Pudding; The Chocolate Jalepeno Cake, and the Mango Cheese Cake.

The service is very friendly, though tends to be rushed on busy weekend evenings.

They are also open for Brunch/lunch.
