The best place in Cape May for a take out sandwich or a quick eat-in, inexpensive lunch, either in doors or outside. Run by Chuck Bertolina and Lester Daisey, the restaurant located near the Cape May train station, is a small, year-round restaurant that is especially popular with the locals. After enjoying a most pleasant lunch on a picnic bench on the market's tented patio, I can understand why. The soups are homemade, as are the potpies, the hearty meat loaf, the soups, the quiches, and even the herb vinaigrettes for the big, fresh salads. Their shrimp salad sandwich and cheese steaks are outstanding. |
