This year Memorial day will be celebrated on Monday, May 27, 2019

It is a time for parades, flags, and wreath-laying ceremonies paying tribute the who died serving our country.

Memorial Day is also the unofficial beginning of summer in New Jersey with the Jersey Shore beach communities coming alive with activities.

Many of these activities include music festivals, ethnic festivals, fireworks, auto racing events and special events geared to the kick off of summer.

Wildwoods International Kite Festival

This annual event is one of the largest kite festival in North America. It features kite makers from around the world flying their most incredible colorful creations.
Event begins on Friday at noon with the 'Unlocking of the Ocean' media event on the beach behind the center. Festivities continue with the opening of the Festival Field Tent and the 9 pm illuminated kite fly at Rio Grande Ave. and the beach.
Saturday & Sunday include the East Coast Stunt Kite Championships on the beach starting at 9 am daily, as well as kite exhibits and workshops. A Kite Festival Auction will be held in the center at 7 pm on Saturday night and is open to the public - many unique kites and collectibles will be auctioned off.
Monday will feature the World Indoor Kite Competition from 11 am - 12:30 pm inside the center where kite fliers will showcase their impressive ability to fly a kite without wind.

The Brigantine Art Walk invites Artists to exhibit, sell and promote their work during this event. The juried Art Walk events celebrate fine art and fine craft artists.

This popular family event expects to draw over 50,000 people and features Five stages of live music including blues, rock, folk and more. Activities for Children include a "KidZone" featuring pony rides, carnival games, rides and children-friendly crafters. The New Jersey Renaissance Faire is an event of epic proportions! This year, the Faire celebrates its 10th glorious season.
Located on the beautiful 60 acres of Liberty Lake, the Faire is the largest festival of its kind in the state of NJ, and has made a name for itself as the most interactive Renaissance Faire in the country. Ceremony immediately follows outside Women's Civic Club at 96th & the beach Open House, 1:00 PM at the American Legion, 117th Street and Second Avenue. Firefighters ceremony at the firehouse precedes the parade at 11:00 a.m.
