I'm looking for a farm house for one day to host a picnic for my company employees and their families, about 100 people.
Can you suggest any Farms on renting NJ?
Please also suggest event planners.
Thanks,
Bindu

Hi Bindu;
To find that special out of the ordinary place I would suggest contacting some of the event planners listed on this web page:
https://www.new-jersey-leisure-guide.com/picnic-caterers.html
These event planners have arrangements with many unusual venues and will be able to work with you to host and organize your event.
While I am not aware of a farm house to hold an event, there are a number of unusual mansions that can host an event. They can be found on the web page:

I am looking for a home, mansion, estate, etc., to rent for a weekend in August 2012. I would like to have a Luau theme based birthday party for an adult. The premises would need to have a pool. fmason@njtransit.com

Hi Florence;
This sounds like an exciting and out of the ordinary birthday party you are planing for some lucky person.
As you know, pulling this off is going to take a great deal of planning and coordination with one or more vendors.
As a first step I would suggest contacting a party or event planner that specializes in arranging special events with an unusual theme at an out of the ordinary venue. They are known to have arrangements with little known venues that may be able to accommodate your needs.
Depending on what you find from these discussions, they may know of places that can be rented for the weekend or you may have to take the additional step of contacting real estate agents that specialize in rentals of New Jersey mansions and estates.

Hello,
I'm looking for an outdoor location, preferably a park or beach, that can accompany 2,500-5,000 people that allows alcoholic beverages and a DJ. Does anyone know of a good location in central or south jersey?

Hi Victoria;
For exceptionally large private party events at an outdoor park or a beach venue, I would suggest you contact a private party planner/caterer that specializes in having relationships with large outdoor venues that are looking to partner with an experienced caterer to host an outdoor event for groups of 2,500 - 5,000. I'm looking to have a birthday party/family gathering for approximately 60 people. Are there any parks in New Jersey that allow alcohol, and if so, are permits/licenses required?
Reply:
Hi Lori,
New Jersey parks have tight restrictions on the use of alcohol. I suggest you try a private picnic area/campground. They are more than happy to accommodate private family gatherings and also have activities for enjoyment

Hello,
My fiance and I are searching for the perfect place to have our wedding reception. We are holding our ceremony in Millbrook Village in front of the barn in Oct. 2013 but the village isn't ideal for a reception site. The over-all feel of our wedding is a very old-fashioned, turn-of-the-century at home feel. We want to take our guests back in time, but have them feel more like they're going to a party at someone's house (back in the 1900's) than they are going to a wedding. We've been looking high and low for a place to have the reception that isn't too far from Millbrook (maybe 45-60 minutes?). We love The Inn at Millrace Pond, but it only holds about 85 people maximum and we're thinking we're going to have around 120 total. We'd love to be able to use an old grist mill, or barn, or even an old historic home that could accommodate a wedding party for our reception but we've been having a very hard time finding anything. If you know of any hidden treasures and are willing to share we would be eternally grateful. Thank you!!!

Hi Mary-Kathryn,
I congratulate you on your quest to seek that out of the ordinary venue for your wedding reception.
New Jersey has many Historic settings and venues that are willing to host your Old Fashioned, Historic wedding.
However, finding the perfect place takes special planning, and more importantly the knowledge of where they are. I suggest contacting an event planner with this expertise to assist you. Here is a starting point:New Jersey Event Planners For That Out of the Ordinary Venue and Event

I'm looking for a clean space in or around Montclair, that we can bring in all food/drink but has tables and a kitchen. Some character would be nice too.
Frank's Reply:
Hi Jen,
Since you plan to host your own event and bring in your own food & drinks, you will probably find that community organizations with facilities to rent out will be your best bet. I suggest you contact the local volunteer Fire Dept, Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, and other organizations who have their own hall/banquet venue that would be happy to rent out for the night.

Looking for an outdoor indoor venue to have a family reunion in Central NJ
Some parks do not allow beer or wine, we need some activities for kids.? Any suggestions?
Hi;
I would suggest looking into private day camp ground for booking your family event. Take a look at this link on New Jersey Leisure Guide where you will find a listing of the top private day camps that feature hosting an event for families without the restrictions of alcohol imposed by state parks. Since these venues are day camps during the week, they have an excellent variety of kids activities.
Wishing you an enjoyable family reunion,
Frank

I am looking for a place near Princeton where I can make a fire outside, in a fire pit. A place where people can sit around a fire, without necessarily having to rent a campsite. Is there such a place?
Frank's Reply
Since you are reluctant to rent a campsite, another possibility would be at one of the nearby County Parks. I suggest you contact the Mercer County Park Commission and run it by them. Here is the contact information:
