Restaurant Review

One of many restaurants from the Terra Momo group, this Princeton restaurant is a very popular, upscale casual restaurant in an attractive setting overlooking Palmer Square. It's atmosphere is vibrant, bustling and attracts a diverse clientele. The decor has warm brown toned colors with soft lighting.

They distinguish themselves by combining the flavors of the 21 countries surrounding the Mediterranean. The restaurant favors purchasing local produce, cheeses, and organic beef.

Well prepared and popular appetizers include panzanella, a luscious bread and tomato salad with olive oil, vinegar, garlic, and a touch of basil and the lentil soup with a prosciutto stock, and jumbo lump blue crab cake with a blending of sweet corn saffron cream sauce.

The well prepared entrees include sauteed tilapia, served moist and flaky, Alaskan halibut pan seared, with potato pancake, and vegetable ratatouille, and sauteed jumbo shrimp with jasmine rice pilaf, oyster mushroom confit, and garlic sauce.

For a southern Mediterranean experience, try the Valencian paella, lasagna in buffalo and ostrich Bolognese, and the Moroccan-spiced New York sirloin.

The restaurant has an attractive well stocked bar, perfect for a before dinner cocktail while you're waiting to be seated.

The pluses are the fine cuisine and decor; the minus' are the service which tends to be over extended, some of the items on the menu are a little pricey, and on the occasion when they have music, it can be a little loud.

If you’re there during the warmer months, you're in for a real treat if you are able to get a table outside on the attractive piazza, with a bubbling fountain. It's one of the few places in Princeton with good outdoor dining.
