Restaurant Review

This Southwestern restaurant, located in the attractive Blue Bay Inn boutique hotel in Atlantic Highlands, has food that is hard to beat!

If you plan to go with a group for a fun evening with great food, and don't mind the high noise levels and the tables being close together, you will enjoy this place. It's just not a place for a cozy, intimate night out.

If you get there early or are waiting for a table, they have a lively bar scene to enjoy. Their Margaritas and tequila are exceptional.

The decor is very attractive and the meals served up are sophisticated Tex-Mex at a reasonable price.

For dinner starters, try the Shrimp and Calamari Cocktail, with avocado, lime and jalapeno chilies; or the Roasted Carrot Soup with puya chile sauce and sour cream.

For dinner entrees, try the NY Strip Steak with a pasilla pepper-hickory crust and canyon fries; or the Grilled Pork Fajitas with sweet onions, poblano chile, corn tortillas and serrano tomato salsa.

Their desserts while tasty, are not on a par with their starters and entrees.

The service is inconsistent, and can be slow and rushed during the busy weekends.
