Restaurant Review

Owner Carol Herfoth and Executive chef John Thomas have teamed up to serve up well prepared, inventive Caribbean-fusion cuisine in a casual, relaxed setting.

The Island Grill is located behind the Washington Street shopping area between the parking lot and Colliers liquor store.

This BYOB is open for lunch and dinner using fresh ingredients and a nice blend of spices, with an excellent price-value for Cape May fine dining.

Popular luncheon dishes include; the fried oyster BLT, the Cuban sandwich, the barbecued pulled pork sandwich, the coconut shrimp glazed with molasses, the Big Daddy island burger, and the curried chicken salad with grapes and walnuts

Popular dinner starters include; Caribbean black bean soup, Cajun chicken egg rolls, beer-battered shrimp with a Jamaican rum glaze, grilled flat iron steak, and the macadamia nut crusted chicken breast with a coconut curry sauce. Save room for desserts they are well prepared and made fresh on the premises.

They are family friendly and offer a kids menu.

There is on site parking. They do not accept credit cards.
