Cherry Blossom Festival
April 6 through April 20, 2013

The second largest Cherry Blossom display in the United States with the National Cherry Blossom display in Washington, DC being the largest and usually occurs about two weeks earlier. This blossoms peak in the second and third weeks of April. There are over 3,000 cherry trees. The blossoms can be best enjoyed by a casual walk or picnic in the park. This is a week long festival with many events including a 10K race, trolley bus tours, and family Day with Japanese cultural activities, including demonstrations on origami, bonsai, ikebana, and martial arts.

The Cummins School of Irish Dance presents an Irish dance competition that will fature more than 1,000 dancers of all ages and expertise. Feis will be choreographed to music and prizes will be awarded. The top five dance teams in Preliminary and Open categories will be awarded sashes.
Doors open at 9 a.m.; competitions begin at 10 a.m. Admission to Feis at the Beach is FREE! A number of vendors including Fays and Rutherfords shoes and “Head for the Worlds” as well as others will be displaying and selling many Irish products
