Popular March Events and Happenings
April in New Jersey is off to a great start with gorgeous spring weather as we look forward to a month loaded with lots of outdoor activities and the emergence of spring flowers.

Here is a capsule of some of the popular events that are happening in April.


Point Pleasant Beach Easter Parade

Prizes awarded in various categories. Registration takes place from 11:30am-12:30pm. Parade kicks off at 1pm in front of Joey Tomatoes.


Spring Crafts at Morristown

Features contemporary work from over 150 artists and crafts people from across the country. Includes one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry, fashion and accessories, furniture, and home décor pieces, as well as functional and sculptural work in ceramics, glass, metal, painting, photography, wood and mixed media, and specialty foods from across the country.


Newark Cherry Blossom Festival

This is the second largest Cherry Blossom display in the United States with the National Cherry Blossom display in Washington, DC, being the largest. Held in Newark's Branch Brook Park, there are over 3,000 cherry trees. The blossoms can be best enjoyed by a casual walk or picnic in the park. However, to see the blossoms at its peak, perfect timing is needed. Arrive too early in April and you’ll be greeted by bare limbs. Arrive too late, after heavy rain or wind, and you’ll find only fallen blossoms.

22nd Annual Somers Point Bayfest

A celebration of Earth Day, spring, community and the environment. Bayfest features an arts and crafts show, food from local restaurants, live music, Lenape Indian exhibits, prize giveaways and kids activities. Music will be provided this year by Stage 3, A Shorething Band and Bound for Nothing. With over 14 blocks to stroll, over 120 crafter's, 38 food vendors, 15 children activities, 4 live musical bands, bicycle giveaways and back by popular demand Boardz staking boarding park, there will certainly something for everybody.


The Liberty Boat Show

Features all the best names in boating in the water and on land for you to view. The show truly has something for everyone with dock after dock of powerboats from 16' through 66'. The show enjoys spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and boasts as its home, a first class 600 slip marina, seconds off the Hudson River. Liberty State Park affords the show an expansive, beautiful landscape on which to spread out the considerable “on-land” portions of the show. Visitors are treated to over a mile long scenic drive through the winding roads of the Park on the way into the marina, with the majestic site of the Statue of Liberty in the background all the while.


The 2nd Annual New Jersey Food & Wine Festival

A celebration of the world's best wines and top local chefs. The weekend's events are designed to allow connoisseurs to meet and mingle with chefs, winemakers, sommeliers and fellow wine aficionados. This BYOB restaurant, sits overlooking the canal, set back off Bridge Street. It's a pleasant lunch or dinner place if you want to take a break from shopping, or in visiting many of the art galleries in town, or if you are biking ---- it's conveniently off the bike path along the canal. They serve up excellent food at reasonable prices.
