The Bordentown Regional High School Theater Club is proud to present its Winter Arts Festival on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 7:30PM at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. The evening will include monologues, short scenes, singing, instrumental performances, and much more, presented by more than forty students of Bordentown Regional High School. Tickets are $5, and all proceeds will go towards BRHS Theatre Club scholarships. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The Bordentown Performing Arts Center is attached to Bordentown Regional High School, and is located at 318 Ward Avenue in Bordentown, NJ. The Bordentown Performing Arts Center is a 942 seat facility whose goal is to bring local, regional and world renowned cultural performances to their community. It is a perfect place for audiences of all ages to enjoy an afternoon or evening of dance, music or live theatre.

Revisit the Empire through Fashion. The exhibit will feature clothing and accessories from the 1920’s, styles often seen in “Boardwalk Empire,” one of HBO’s new hit television show, set in Atlantic City during the Prohibition era.

The Atlantic City Antiques & Collectors Show will be held Saturday, March 19,from 10 AM to 6 PM EST and Sunday, March 20,from 11 AM to 5 PM EST at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

"Number the Stars" Teaches Tolerance - Coming To Ventnor

The book "Number the Stars" Teaches Tolerance, will be performed in musical play form. Number the Stars will be presented on:
Sunday, May 22 and Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Number the Stars is a musical play based on the Newberry Award-winning book of the same name by Lois Lowry. The story is set during the German occupation in Denmark during World War II. It tells of 10-year-old Annemarie Johansen, and her best friend, Ellen Rosen, during the time of the Holocaust. Friendship, courage and humanity are major themes.
The play features a local cast of all ages from Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and children under 12. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at Congregation Beth Judah by calling (609) 822-7116, ext. 101. Please contact that number for any questions.
In addition to the public performance, the cast will be traveling to area schools during the week of May 23rd as part of a Holocaust education curriculum. The performance is followed by a Q&A with cast members.

Kindergarten Registration to Open at Non-Tuition Based Galloway Community Charter School

Galloway Community Charter School (GCCS), a free public school for grades K-8, will be accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2011-2012 school year for Galloway residents from May 1-16, 2011.
GCCS offers full-day kindergarten with a longer instructional day, from 8:45 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.
Galloway Community Charter School offers a unique, personalized learning environment for students. Class sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 15 students. The school provides an individual learning plan for each student. There is technology instruction at all grade levels, and special 10-week segments of study in International Studies, Technology, the Arts and Humanities and Environmental Studies.
Registration for grades K-8 is accepted on a space available basis. Preference for enrollment is given to Galloway Township residents. Parents wishing to pre-register their children should contact the office at (609) 652-7118, ext. 100 or 101. Avalon Hodge Podge Summer Fishing Seminars

Avalon Hodge Podge announced that it will be hosting several informative fishing seminars this year, at its Avalon location.

The seminars will be held on varying subjects and will kick-off with an Open House Weekend April 22 – 24 at Avalon Hodge Podge, 2389 Ocean Drive, Avalon.

The first seminar is June 4th at 4pm and will be on Shark fishing. Capt. Jim Lutz will be talking about the rigs, bait and different fishing methods used. The next event is June 18th , (Father’s Day weekend) which is a Father/child Fishing Derby from 6am-4pm followed by a seminar at 4pm with instructor Captain Dick Herb talking about flounder, fishing, rigging and methods.

The next seminar is scheduled for August 6th at 4pm with Capt. Frank Gripp. Capt. Gripp will demonstrate how to rig off-shore baits such as ballyhoo, butterfish and sardines for Tuna fishing.

The last seminar is October 8th at 4pm with Captain Jim Lutz who will teach you the techniques to troll for Striped Bass and the most popular Striper lures.
