What is the closest Beach from Northern NJ?

by Breane
(Livingston, NJ)

I live in Livingston, NJ. I want to go to the shore. Where is the closest beach and how do I get there?

Hi Breane;
For the closest beaches to Northern, NJ, I would recommend Sandy Hook if you are looking for a nice beach for sunning, swimming, or to bicycle ride on. It's off exit 117 on the parkway, then onto Route 36 east.

Just a little further south on the parkway is long Branch, which offers restaurants and other activities in addition to a beach.

The further south on the Jersey Shore, the better the beaches are. To get a feel of the Jersey Shore, head 15 minutes further down on the Parkway to Belmar, or a little further down to Pt. Pleasant where you'll experience a major Jersey Shore attraction, the boardwalk and amusement park.

Regards,
Frank
