The quality of the food and the fresh locally sourced ingredients are excellent.

Recommended For:  Diners who enjoy well prepared contemporary American food with elegant ambiance and old world charm.

Not Recommended For:  Budget conscious diners who prefer a casual setting, simpler food, lower prices; and for diners who prefer a more trendy, chic ambiance

Recommended dishes:  When available, North American Lobster, The Australian Lamb Rack; and The Duck Breast.

Alcohol:  BYOB with local Cape May wines available.

Restaurant Review

The Union Park Restaurant , located in Hotel Macomber, serves up fine dining American dishes in a traditional, "Old World" upscale atmosphere.

The decor is "Old World" elegant, a bit stuffy, with ceiling chandeliers and light creme walls that are adorned with classical art works mounted in gold frames, flowery carpeted floors, and large ornate wooden chairs. There are many attractive bouquets of flowers throughout the dining area. antique fixtures, exquisite cuisine. They have two dining rooms with fire places.

The Union Park restaurant is popular with older, 55+ patrons.

Owned by partners Chef John Schatz and General Manager Bojidar "Bob" Dimitrov, who also own the Pacific Grill in Wildwood

The difference is that the Pacific grill is more casual and emphasis on seafood dishes while the the Union Park restaurant is more formal than the Pacific Grill restaurant.

Chef John Schatz who continues to serve as the executive chef of the Pacific Grill honed his cooking skills at some of the top restaurants in Cape May including the Peter Shields Inn and Restaurant Maureen in Cape May.

Chef John Schatz creates attractive presentations of well prepared American Dishes, using fresh, locally farm to table ingredients.

The service is friendly and attentive.

Not recommended for active children.

The Union Park is open year round with reduced winter seasonal hours.

Open for holiday dining on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve.
