That's Amore is your typical, traditional red sauce Italian restaurant that finds itself one of many similar Italian restaurants in the Freehold-Manalapan area that is over populated with mediocre Italian restaurants.
On the upside, the food portions are very large and reasonably priced.
The decor is attractive. Located in a free standing building on the north lane of Rt 9, the walls are adorned with Italian paintings with scenes from Italy, and accented in stucco and terra-cotta. A gas fireplace in the rear of the dining room provides a warm glow.
On the downside, most of the servers are unprofessional, a little gruff, and lack interest in making the effort to ensure the dining patron is pleased. If you want fresh ground pepper, or grated cheese, you will have to flag down the server, similarly, if you want your bottle of white wine placed on ice. The menu selections are old style Italian, and lack the creativity found at many of the areas Italian restaurants.
Having said that, That's Amore is filled to capacity on weekends, largely due to its generous portions and reasonable prices.
A highlight of the dinner is the very tasty, and warm oven-baked rolls. The salad is complimentary with most entrees, but very average.
That's Amore is child friendly.

New Jersey Leisure Guide strives to provide objective restaurant reviews .
The methodology used is research, analysis driven --- as opposed to that of a single restaurant critic or a viewer comment posting board.
Data is gathered from our viewers e-mail restaurant comments, Internet research, and professional restaurant critics. The data is sorted, (weeding out the obvious biased, "bone to pick", and out of consensus comments), analyzed, and the review is created.
