Restaurant Review

The atmosphere and the "Olde Jersey Diner" feel alone is worth coming to the Summit Diner.

It's an old time railroad car diner, with limited seating, loud, and packed.

The diner has not been renovated probably since it went into business - the ceiling looks like it's crusted over with years of cooking grease, the tiled floor is vintage, wood paneled walls. It's such a throwback.

It's the kind of diner you love to hate. It has wood paneled walls, eight booths and 20 stools.

They don't have menus, the food items are listed on the wall. You look up want you want and place your order. Need to be patient to enjoy the experience, it's very small and usually has only one waitress.

They offer standard diner breakfast items like pancakes, omelette's, bacon, potatoes etc. The French toast and the breakfast sandwiches are what you would expect from a good diner.

The Summit Diner is the place to come if you want old time, classic Jersey diner atmosphere and excellent diner style breakfast.

A popular choice is the famous New Jersey breakfast - Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a hard roll with the egg oozing out the sides.

Lines are now formed outside the diner door especially on Saturdays. They are noted for their sliced ham, baked on the premises.
