This charming, old world style, long time favorite restaurant is popular with middle aged couples on Valentines day and anniversaries, and on special occasions with families and friends. The setting is in an historic, converted 1818 Dutch estate, with manicured grounds and landscaping and an interior with a series of connected rooms adorned with beautiful drapes, textured wallpapers, and crystal-and-brass wall sconces. For the romantics, there are fireplaces in each of the dining rooms. The food is well prepared, with fresh ingredients, although the selections are largely the traditional Italian dishes. For starters, try the Broccoli di Rapa con salsiccie broccoli rabe with homemade Italian sausage, garlic and olive oil; or the Mozzarella en Carozza, fresh mozzarella & prosciutto di parma encrusted in bread, dipped in egg & Parmesan cheese, fried & served with an anchovy sauce. For dinner entrees, try the Chateaubriand Bouquetiere for Two, a double Filet Mignon of beef, sliced & served with bearrnaise sauce & seasonal fresh vegetables; or the La Cremagliera di Vitello Trita Parmegiana Rack of Veal Chop, breaded and pan fried topped with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce, served with pasta. The service is friendly and attentive. Also a good choice If you enjoy a night out with dinner, quiet conversation, and dancing, and not be rushed. Valet parking is available. |
