If you are looking to go to the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood and are looking for an a pre or post theatre meal at an upscale restaurant, conveniently located near the Arts center, then this is it. This Italian restaurant has an attractive decor with warm lighting and a lively bar scene. Be forewarned, if you have an aversion to loud talking, ask for a table away from the bar area. During the warmer months, out door dining is available. While the food is well prepared, the menu selections are not creative and tend to be on the pricey side. When ordering a daily special, ask for the price, they tend to be especially pricey. For starters, try the grilled baby calamari over mixed greens with vinaigrette dressing; or the sashimi grade tuna tartare with avocado and thinly sliced cucumber. The recommended dinner entrees are; The Tagliolini al aragosta-calamari ink pasta; the veal osso bucco , braised veal shank over saffron risotto; or the jumbo shrimps with a choice of grilled or sauteed in white wine sauce. On request, Solaia will substitute and prepare any dish that contains butter with "Smart Balance" a no trans fat vegetable oil buttery spread. The service is attentive and friendly. They are family friendly with a children's Menu. |
