This New Brunswick restaurant has the atmosphere of an upscale, hip, energetic, New York City eatery. The interior is an attractive blend of Chocolate mahogany and copper. The Walls are decorated with framed, vibrant, slightly distorted murals. An attractive bar divides the bi-level dining room, creating the feeling of two separate dining areas. The restaurant is lit with subdued lighting that makes the most of the interior design without being too dark to comfortably read the menu. The food is New American with consistently well prepared and imaginatively presented dishes using fresh ingredients. For starters, try the Duck Confit and Goat Cheese Strudel with grilled vidalia onions, beet Tops and red pepper vinaigrette. The recommended dinner entrees are; NY State Duck Breast - pan roasted, with a brioche bread pudding, haricots verts, poached garlic, shiitake mushrooms and a brown ale sauce; Grilled Filet Mignon with a truffled Potato Puff, Asparagus, Melted Leeks, rutabaga batons, balsamic shallot demi glace; and Roasted Spiced Rack of Baby Lamb with mashed sweet potatoes, spinach, black trumpet mushroom fricassee, cranberry compote and apple cider syrup. Save room for dessert, they are sumptuous, especially the Gianduja Chocolate Tart with peanut butter mousse, vanilla sauce and chocolate ice cream. The service is professional and friendly. |
