Restaurant Review

This BYO Ridgewood restaurant serves up very good Southern style dishes at a very reasonable price.

The food and the prices are the reason you come here! Expect slow service and a crowded, noisy ambiance.

Chef/co-owner Gary Needham is the key to it's success. While the food is not friendly to the waistline, it's extremely tasty to the palate. The food is prepared with very tasty complex sauces, some spicy.

The popular dishes at the restaurant are:the Rags and Fungus, a combination of fresh made pasta, white truffles and mushrooms; The Bowl of Gumbo, a large breaded cube of meat that's is sooo tender; the The Blackened Catfish; and the Mahogany Duck with a crispy skin and an asian-influenced glaze.

The "Almost famous" Mac & Cheese, beautifully presented, is another favorite.

Be prepared, the portions are large.
