Recommended For: Diners who enjoy food prepared with fresh local ingredients, with an upscale, trendy ambiance.
Not Recommended For: Diners who may prefer simpler food, lower prices and less trendy ambiance

Liquor: Extensive wine list, specialty cocktails. Bar scene is vibrant.

Opened in mid-summer of 2011, The Sea Salt is located in the newly remodeled Ocean Club Hotel overlooking the Ocean.

This is a restaurant committed to filling a niche in Cape May for a trendy, casually elegant restaurant for the new breed of younger diners who can afford to pay for a higher end dining experience.

The interior decor is very attractive with a modern, NYC chic ambiance featuring an attractive, vibrant bar. The dining area is furnished with ornate dark wood, silver blue-grey walls, tables set with white linens and soft candle lighting, and large oversized windows that open in the warmer months to the outside dining area.

The kitchen is under the watchful eye of Chef Lulzim Rexhepi who comes to Cape May with an outstanding resume. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Rexhepi honed his skills in Europe at some famed restaurants such as Roger Verge's Le Moulin de Mougins in France, and the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Geneva; and later in NYC with Paul Sale at 57/57 in The Four Seasons, the W Hotel, and Restaurant Kittichai at the 60 Thompson hotel in SOHO.

Chef Rexhepi offers a contemporary American menu with Asian and Mediterranean influences, using fresh farm to table local ingredients and and sea food from local waters.

The service staff comes off as inexperienced, and lacking the polish and professionalism that is expected of a restaurant that wants to compete in a class with the more upscale Cape May restaurants.

They are open for breakfast from 8 am to - 11 am, Saturday and Sunday and for dinner from 5:30 - 10pm on weekdays from Wednesday through Sunday . In the summer season, Sea Salt offers a late night menu from 10pm until 2am
On Friday's they have half off bottles of wines.
