The oldest sushi restaurant in Ridgewood, located two blocks from the train station, is a crowd pleaser with it's good food at a reasonable price, and a very friendly environment. While the decor is basic and humble, and crowded during the peak times, it's food is not. This family style BYOB traditional Japanese restaurant is where patrons come to enjoy sushi Chef Ken Kuriki's well prepared traditional sushi, sashimi and other Japanese specialties for lunch and dinner. Their seafood and ingredients are fresh. The popular starters are; the Yellow Tail Sashimi; the Steamed Crab Shumai; and the Mixed Tempura; The popular entrees are; the Sushi daily specials; Broiled Chilean sea bass with teriyaki sauce; and the Peter Roll with spicy scallops, tempura chips & cucumber inside, yellow tail & tuna outside. Save room for desserts, they are sumptuous. Try the Mochi Ice Cream with green tea, red bean, vanilla, and strawberry. They are child friendly and offer an excellent kids menu. There is limited parking in the area and you may have to walk several blocks from parking. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. |
