This long time favorite steak and seafood restaurant in the Madison Hotel is sure to please if your are looking for good American fare in an elegant Victorian atmosphere. This is a good choice for celebrating a special occasion. It's elegant dining amongst Victorian antiques in turn-of-the-century Pullman cars that serve as elaborate dining rooms. There is also a main dining room with seating under a huge stained glass ceiling. Culinary Institute of America trained Executive Chef Jose Velez is adept at offering up a menu that is well prepared with fresh ingredients. Your evening dining experience at Rod's starts off with a bread basked filled with a warm assortment of breads including, Italian bread, a dark bread with raisins, and a Lavosh. The menu selections consist of generous portions of many traditional prime beef selections. The recommended starters are; The signature Crab Bisque with petite jumbo lump crab cake; and the Spice Ahi Tuna with a Saba noodle salad. The recommended entrees are; The Keeler Family's Prime New York Sirloin on the Bone; the Rack Of Colorado Lamb with mashed potentates, grilled vegetables and lamb jus; or the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass with wilted leeks, cilantro, and chateau potatoes. The majority of patrons at Rods Steak and Seafood Grille tend to be high-income, baby boomers and senior citizens. The service is well trained and attentive, although during the busy periods they tend to be rushed. Not recommended for children. They accept all major credit cards. |
