Restaurant Review

Rebecca's is an intimate Cuban Fusion BYOB that is a po[pulat choice for couples on a date who enjoy well prepared ethnic food, or for couples celebrating a romantic occassion.

If you are from outside the neighborhood, set your GPS as finding it may be a challenge. Rebeccas is tucked away between a hillside and a condominium complex.

Located on the first floor of a white town house, the small 40 seat restaurant is named after chef/owner Glenn Chernali's wife. Rebecca is an attractive and charming Cuban-born local who graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University's hotel school. Rebecca manages the dining area and is usually seen greeting the patrons as they arrive..

Chef Chernali, also a New Jersey native grew up in the restaurant business and spent time developing his culinary skills from his family members who own the Market Basket in Franklin Lakes and the former Cedar Hill Inn in Wycoff. The well prepared Cuban fusion menu incorporates many of the recipes from Rebecca's mother.

The menu, selections are limited and are dominated by mea selections,

Chef Chernali is also a photographer and antique collector who decorated the interior. The interior is tastefully decorated with a European flair. The entrance opens to velvet drapes providing access to two small dining rooms that are softly lit and decorated with fresh exotic flowers and antique accents to provide a cozy, intimate romantic setting. The smaller dining area is an alcove ideal for a more intimate setting or for a small group seatings.

The larger dining area provides access to a charming, garden setting outdoor patio, In the warmer summer months the out door garden patio is in high demand as a romantic al fresco dining experience

On busy evenings, the service at Rebeccas can be inconsistent and slow at times;.
