Accomodations near Train Station to NYC

I am looking for a hotel which is conveniently located for my family of four. We will be there for a holiday in December and we plan to go into New York. Please advise where we can stay, preferably a budget hotel near the train station.

Hi;
For public transportation and ease of getting in an out of New York City, I would recommend staying in either Jersey City, NJ or Newark,NJ.

Here are some Budget to mid - priced hotels you may want to consider:
Jersey City:
Hyatt Regency on the Hudson
2 Exchange Pl

Ramada Limited
65 Tonnele Ave

Candlewood Suites
21 2nd St

Newark
Hilton Newark Penn Station
1 Gateway Center Raymond Blv

Hampton Inn & Suites
100 Passaic Ave.
Harrison
.8 miles from Newark Train Station

For information on Jersey City and Newark

All the best,

Where to stay in New Jersey Close to NYC?

by Melissa
(Niles OH)

Would like to stay in New Jersey somewhere close to NYC so we can do some site seeing in both places - where would you recommend?

Hi Melissa;
If you prefer a quiet, Jersey shore beach town with Charming Victorian bed & breakfasts, no honky tonk t-shirt shops, and a nearby train ride to NYC of approximately 1 hour, I would recommend Spring Lake.

If you prefer a Jersey shore beach town with more activity including a boardwalk with an amusement park, dance clubs, and plenty of casual dining restaurants, and a nearby train ride NYC of approximately 1 hr 15 minutes, I would recommend Point Pleasant.

If you prefer a more urban setting, a closer train ride into NYC of approximately 20 minutes, some great sight seeing including the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and an abundance of restaurants, I would recommend Jersey City.

Enjoy your stay in New Jersey,

Are there any NJ Lighthouses
That Permit an Overnight Stay?

Are there any lighthouses where the general public can stay overnight?
Hi;
While New Jersey has many lighthouses that are open to the public, none of them have facilities for an overnight stay.
Frank
