Located next door to the Community Theatre and just up the block from the Green in Morristown, this is a perfect place to dine if you are planning to attend the theatre. The decor is contemporary with a mix of black, white, and burgundy. The L-shaped dining room, is in black and white, with soft candlelight, an open kitchen and a black colored bar in the center of the dining room. There is a New York style feel to this place. Owners, Jeff and Francis Falivene oversee a creative, contemporary American menu with international influences that incorporates ingredients from all over the world. Once seated, a server will place an assortmentof delicious small pea-green parfaits in shot glasses with a mixture of kiwi, Greek yogurt, black olives and sun-dried tomato tapenade. While the menu is seasonal, if available, The recommended appetizers are; Tartare of Kobe Beef with white anchonvy, crispy capers and merlot sauce; or the Spanish Octopus with roasted kabocha squash, Chinese sausage, and wild chives. The recommended entrees are: Cape May Sea Scallops with
smoked sweet plantain,
bean ragout, and
soy butter sauce; Venison with
chestnut coussoulet, gooseberry gremolata, and
baby bok-choy; or the Duck Breast with
peanut puree, celery-duck confit salad, and
golden raisin, mustard sauce. Service is knowledgeable and attentive, but tends to be rushed just before theatre time. |
