If You're From North Jersey You know What Taylor Ham Is.

by Ron
(Holiday City)

When you get below the Driscoll Bridges over the Raritan River it's called pork roll and outside New Jersey it's not known of at all.

Ice Cream Fact

by Anon
(Erial, NJ. USA)

This may pertain more to South Jersey than any other part. We don't put sprinkles on our ice cream cones. They're called "Jimmies"!

There's a Wawa Within Fifteen Minutes From You

by Caleb Andrew McAnulty
(Springfield, New Jersey)

There's a WaWa Within Fifteen Minutes From you, if not you'll settle for a cheap indian store.

I've lived in New Jersey for most of my life, and I can say that half of my meals were from a WaWa or Seven Eleven.

There's a big difference between North and South Jersey

by Cheryl
(South Jersey)

People in North Jersey, which is above Trenton, don't know anything about South Jersey. They never come here.

Anyone whose area code is anything but 609 or 856, is really from New York.

South Jersey 'bennies' are 'shoobies' and even South Jersey Shoobies call it the 'shore'. Only those of us who live here, call it the island, or the beach.

No such thing as Taylor Ham, only pork roll, but Scrapple is more popular.

The 'flea market' used to be in Berlin and Pennsauken, now we have malls on every corner.

We know where Bruce Willis grew up, as well as Sly Stallone. We went to school with Mohammed Ali's kids, and know most of the sports teams in Philly.

We might go to the boardwalk once a year, never between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and we hardly notice Atlantic City. If you live at the shore, you avoid tourists.

Everything else is the same...we like that we don't have to pump gas, that we are multicultural, that the nation's history is all around us, and we say what we think...just like our current Governor. He represents us so well.

Frank's Comment:
Thank you Cheryl for your interesting comments from a South Jersey point of view.
