Located at the River Side Square Mall, Morton's Steakhouse is a place to come to if you are a high income diner on an expense account and want to reward a client who enjoys the best in beef.

 

This is a destination restaurant for diners willing to travel out of their neighborhood to celebrate a special occasion.

 

Morton's is one of the few New Jersey steakhouses that use USDA Prime aged beef and cooked char-broiled at a very high temperature and served charred and pink to rare. Most of the other high end steakhouses serve a lesser grade of steak --- USDA Choice, a grade down from USDA Prime.

 

Note: USDA Prime is the superior grade with exceptional tenderness, juiciness, flavor and fine texture. It has the highest degree of fat marbling and is derived from younger beef. That's why Prime is generally featured at the most exclusive upscale steakhouse restaurants.

USDA Choice is the second highest graded beef. It has less fat marbling than Prime. Generally USDA Choice will be less tender, juicy and flavorful with a slightly more coarse texture than Prime.

 

Morton's decor, unlike most other steakhouses, does not have the typical, "Clubby" ambiance with lots of wood paneled walls and trim. The newly renovated dining area is decidedly elegant, and well appointed, with a softly lit large dining area, large contemporary chandeliers, and tables accompanied by large comfortable chairs set with linens. Booth seating is also available.

 

If you are into people watching, the place is frequented by celebrities who are looking for high quality beef in an attractive setting.

 

Service is attentive and professional with servers clad in black outfits. When celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday, just let them know when making a reservation and they will provide your table with a custom printed menu with your name on it.

 

They offer an excellent bar menu of burgers, sandwiches, and a few entree selections. Their "Power Hour" (similiar to a happy hour) is available at the bar everyday from 4:30-6:30pm and 9pm untili closing, and all day on Sunday.

 

Morton's Steakhouse offers private dining for groups of 5-100 guests in their two private boardrooms.
