Luke Peter Ong opened Le Fandy in the spring of 2004 after having honed his culinary skills at the Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, Chez Catherine in Westfield and La Ciboulette in North Bergen.
He brings a passion and care for detailed food preparation often using natural organic Ingredients, to this charming, storefront restaurant .
Even though the restaurant has been opened since 2004, it still seems to be a well kept secret as this is no web site and internet reviews are limited.
The interior decor has a romantic feel to it though the wood floors and closely spaced tables can take away from the intimate conversation with high noise levels during peak times.
The the specials are creatively presented on a trompe-l'oeil illusionistic blackboard menu.
Le Fandy is open for lunch from Noon to 2pm, Tuesday through Friday, and for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm Tuesday through Thursday, and from 5 to 10 pm Friday and Saturday. Takeout is available.
