This upscale, contemporary French restaurant is an ideal place for a romantic dining experience or to celebrate a special occasion with family or friends. The ambiance resembles European with its location near the Ridgewood train station in a timber-framed house. The interior is elegant and cozy and is adorned with attractive colorful window treatments, soft lighting, and tables set with linen, candles, and fresh flowers. Chef-owner Michael Latour serves up well prepared, attractively presented French cuisine with a contemporary flair. The recommended starters are; the Escargots à la Bourguignonne Pastry shell with garlic creamed spinach, red wine and leek reduction; and the Pan-Seared Foie Gras Light puff pastry with dried fruit compote, vinegar reduction, and white truffle oil. The recommended dinner entrees are; Filet of Beef Wellington Napoleon with layered puff pastry, wild mushroom duxelle, paté foie gras, and Madiera demi-glace; the Veal and Shrimp Stroganoff with wild mushroom ragout, buttered pappardelle pasta, and créme fraiche; and the Sliced Loin of Venison Potato cake with creamed spinach, Roquefort-infused demi glase. Save room for the desserts, they are sumptuous. Try the Grand Marnier cheesecake. The service at Latour restaurant is friendly and professional. Jacket are suggested. They are family and Child friendly with a kids Menu. |
