Lafayette - Reading of Declaration of Independence and Free Concert

On Saturday July 4, from 1-3:30pm, The Six Centuries Club, an American history group based in Lafayette, NJ, kicks off its six-month celebration of American history in the 1700s and 1800s with a free concert of 18th century music by Linda Russell, musings on America in the 1700s by published writers of Sensations Magazine, and the first public reading in Sussex County of the Declaration of Independence since 1853. Free to attend, suitable for all ages, rain or shine - just bring lawn chairs for seating. Air conditioned building, no smoking permitted. Event location: Village Hall at Olde Lafayette Village, Route 15, Lafayette. Handicapped accessible. Hosted by David Messineo, Club president, and a recipient of a 2009 New Jersey State Jefferson Award for Public Service. CDs and other items available for purchase.
