Restaurant Review

This new Greek restaurant at Pier Village in long Branch is their latest addition in a growing chain of restaurants. Located across from the ocean, the restaurant is set in an attractive, freshly decorated environment with a Greek motif.

This BYOB has a menu that centers around such standards as pastitio, moussaka, and some grilled fish. There also are some pizzas, souvlaki platters, and peinerli, which is dough filled with baked kasseri cheese - a sheep's milk cheese that tastes like a cross between cheddar and Parmesan - and a variety of stuffing's.

The food is fresh, simple and moderately priced, and ranges from garlicky appetizers of eggplant, white beans or spinach in phyllo to main courses of seafood and lamb from the grill.

The entree favorites include; Grilled Eggplant & Zucchini With Grilled Chicken; Mousaka with Eggplant, Potato, Ground Meat & Béchamel; Lamb Kokinisto over Orzo with Lamb Chunks in Tomato Sauce with Cinnamon over Orzo; and Grilled Seafood Combination with Shrimp, Calamari & Octopus.

The service is prompt and friendly.
