Restaurant Review

Set in a nice location near the canal, the main entrance is through an alley, named "The Pork yard" for it's history. The interior decor is an upscale, rustic blending of green, brown, gold, copper, rose and wood tones, with art works adorning the walls. The tables are glossy and candlelit with tiled floors and an open charcoal grill in the dining room. Diners can opt to sit at the bar in front of the open grill.

In warmer months, you can dine outside under a lit courtyard filled with white tables and covered by an attractive white canopy.

The Hamiltons Grill Room serves up some excellent dishes, however, their inconsistency and unfriendly service stand in the way of it being ranked as one of the top restaurants in Lambertville.

They serve up contemporary Mediterranean fare with fresh seafood and meats fired on an open grill.

The appetizers are exceptionally good and outdo the entrees in consistency and in preparation.

The menu is diverse and changes every month, depending on the availability of seasonal, local ingredients

If available, for starters try the Fresh Pasta with pancetta and peas or the Crab Cake with panko and tartar Sauce.

Recommended entrees are; Beef Carpaccio with baby arugula, lemon and capers; Grilled Rack of Lamb with coarse grain mustard cream; Grilled Salmon with cucumber salad; and Slate Grilled Whole Black Sea Bass with black bean sauce.

Save room for desserts, they are well prepared.

The restaurant is BYOB and if you desire a pre-dinner cocktail, stop in at the Boat House, across the alley from the Hamilton Grill.

The service is attentive, although can be aloof and unfriendly.

The restaurant dress code is upscale casual and is open 7 days a week.
